Microsoft has begun to provide its taskbar widget to select users.
The new widget in the taskbar provides a summary of recent headlines and local weather.
In Windows 10, you may check the forecast by clicking the Weather tile on the taskbar.

If you’ve been using Windows 10 for a while and are sick of the same interface, Microsoft has something fresh in store for you.

As of today, Windows 10’s taskbar has undergone its most significant change in years, thanks to the introduction of a brand new widget. You can now view the latest weather and headlines with a single click thanks to the new widget for your taskbar.

In addition to the weather and headlines, this widget also provides a quick summary of the day’s stock market and sporting events.

Microsoft has released a video showing off the updated look of the taskbar widget. It changes its appearance depending on the skin you’ve applied to your computer, creating a really immersive experience.

Since the taskbar has only begun rolling out to all Windows 10 users, it may take some time until you see it. This widget won’t appear until you press the taskbar weather information bar.

The widget provides access to a wide variety of information, including forecasts, financial quotes, and headlines from Microsoft’s News network, which draws its information from 4,500 different sources.

Microsoft claims that its AI-enabled algorithm will be in charge of this section’s curation. You can ignore stories that don’t interest you by clicking the “ignore” button; the news feed will then only show stories that seem to be of interest to you.

It’s useful when you don’t want to switch programmes or go online to find each specific beat. You can get started without installing the Microsoft News app.

Furthermore, Microsoft’s news articles will always open in the Microsoft Edge browser. And if you don’t want any updates in this taskbar widget, you may turn it off in the preferences.

Microsoft has stated that all users who opted into the April 2021 cumulative update preview for Windows 10 will have access to the taskbar widget immediately.

As soon as the May Windows security update begins rolling out, however, there will be a more widespread deployment to all users. Keep in mind that only those running a legit copy of Windows 10 will have access to the widget in the taskbar.

We first started trying out the widget for the taskbar back in January. Microsoft has delivered this to consumers ahead of schedule despite the fact that the business had planned to provide it with upgrades in 21H1 and 21H2.

The release of Windows 10 21H1 is scheduled to begin next month as development is nearing completion. Microsoft has also specified that only Windows 10 versions 1909 and later will support the new taskbar widget.
