WhatsApp Users Can Soon Report Unwanted Contacts and Groups

As with Facebook’s “Report Suspicious Activity” feature, you may do something similar here. After the account has been properly verified, WhatsApp will only take action against it.

According to Wabetainfo, the “report to WhatsApp” feature has been made available to beta testers so that they can provide feedback.

Update your Google Play Store version 2.20.206.3 if you’re a beta tester and want the ability to test this new feature out.

Similar to other social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, and others, this function allows you to submit a report. When a report of a suspicious contact is made to WhatsApp, the service will investigate and take appropriate action.

The first step is to see how many complaints have been filed against the person in question. Wabetainfo claims that WhatsApp would blacklist a phone number if it is new and there are many complaints against it. WhatsApp will now receive a copy of recent chat messages to check whether or not a report is reliable, according to the latest beta improvements.

End-to-end encryption ensures that no third party may access your messages unless you give them permission to do so.

The problem is that when you report a contact on WhatsApp, you also agree to send WhatsApp a copy of the chat’s recently sent messages.

Groups and businesses will also be able to use WhatsApp’s new function.

Whatsapp will forward all of the group’s most recent messages to its verification team when you report a group. You can also choose to leave the group and delete the messages in this group.

Similarly, WhatsApp users who no longer wish to receive messages from a particular business account can report it. In addition, users will be able to remove chat messages and blacklist the contact.

The Android beta testers already have access to the feature, and the iOS beta testers will have it soon. If you’re curious about the formal deployment of the function, WhatsApp is still testing the feature and will release it when it’s ready.
