WhatsApp, a messaging service owned by Meta, delivered a slew of new features and enhancements in 2021. Users are eagerly anticipating the new features that will be added in the future. WhatsApp is developing a slew of new tools to enhance the messaging experience for its users.
It’s presently possible to test some of these features in the beta version of the app, while others are still in the works. When an iOS user gets a message, WABetaInfo, the app’s feature tracker, revealed that WhatsApp was working on a new feature that would display the sender’s profile picture in the notification.
User experience is expected to improve as a result of WhatsApp’s new features
Several new WhatsApp features are currently being worked on and should be available by the year 2022, as listed below.
What Will Be Added to WhatsApp in 2022?
Notifications Should Include a User’s Profile Photo.
Facebook is rumoured to be working on an iOS notification feature that will display a user’s profile photo when they receive messages from friends or groups.
Hide Your “last Seen” from Certain People
Additionally, WhatsApp is now experimenting with a much-needed feature that will allow users to restrict who can view their ‘last seen’ status.
It’s worth noting that WhatsApp already includes an option to hide a user’s last seen from their friends. This function, however, has a drawback in that users can’t see their contacts’ ‘last seen’ status.
While users can still see who else has viewed their last seen information, the new last seen feature allows them to hide their information from certain contacts they don’t want to see. Expected to be launched in the next few weeks or months for all users of the beta version of the app, the feature is now available.
Messages Can Be Deleted at Any Time.
Users can currently erase a message for up to 4,096 seconds (68 minutes and 16 seconds) after it was sent in WhatsApp‘s current version. The meta-owned app may be testing a new feature in beta to remove this restriction once and for all, according to recent reports.
Users will be able to delete their outgoing messages at any time in the past using the new feature, which is now in beta. There is no word on when this functionality will be released.
Feature “whatsApp Community”
According to reports, WhatsApp is developing a new feature for groups and channels similar to those found in discord. This isn’t the same as WhatsApp’s existing groups feature.
With this new feature group, app administrators will have more control over the many aspects of the app. Up to ten groups can be created within a community, and messages can be sent to all of them at once by an administrator.
There will be end-to-end encryption in place for the group chats. There is a chance that the function will be made available soon.
Log out Of WhatsApp
A new function named logout is being tested by WaBetaInfo to replace the ‘Delete Account’ button, according to the article.
The new feature will allow users to log out of their WhatsApp accounts from their devices, just like Facebook and other social networking apps. Users may be able to utilise numerous devices at the same time using the new logout option.
The new beta version of WhatsApp has the feature. In the near future, both iOS and Android users will be able to log out of their WhatsApp accounts.
Instagram Relegates WhatsApp
You can now watch Instagram Reels right from WhatsApp, as the messaging platform is developing a new feature.
WhatsApp is rumoured to have plans to integrate with other Facebook-owned apps like Instagram and Messenger.
You Can Go Back and Read It at A Later Time
Archived Chats, which users can access at a later time, may be given a boost by WhatsApp. Users will not be notified of new messages received from a chat that has been put to the “read later” area.
In addition, a “vacation mode” will be included, ensuring that read later’ chats function in the same manner as archived chats in the current stable version.
Editing the settings is as simple as clicking the “Edit” button. Unarchiving numerous chats at the same time is possible on WhatsApp.
Insurance Through Whats App
In India, WhatsApp users will soon be able to purchase insurance using the app. Health insurance and micro-pension products will be made available in India via the messaging app’s platform through partnerships with regulated financial services firms, the company said in a statement.
SBI General sachet health insurance and HDFC Pension plans will be sold over WhatsApp’s platform initially.
Reactions to Messages
Like Instagram and Facebook, WhatsApp will soon allow users to reply to messages with photographs.
WABetaInfo claims to have seen a preview of the new feature. Emojis are being dubbed “message response” since they may be used to respond to messages with a total of six.
Group conversations and individual chats are both available for users to see Message reactions. Message reaction alerts are also available via the ‘Reaction Notifications’ option.
When You’re Sharing Material, You Can Edit the Receipts that Appear when You Do So.
In the near future, WhatsApp users will be able to choose new receivers for their media before they share it.
