How to Turn on Google SafeSearch
Even though your display may look somewhat different from the screenshots below, the processes should be identical regardless of the browser or device you’re using. To change your preferences, go to “Settings” now.
On desktop
Step 1: Visit google.com and sign in using your Google Account information.
Secondly, select Search settings from the drop-down menu that appears when you click the Settings button.

Troubleshooting SafeSearch issues
Common solutions to Google SafeSearch issues are as follows.
SafeSearch keeps Turning On
Your account, your device, or the network administrator may have disabled SafeSearch, which could cause this. To verify this, head to SafeSearch’s preferences and look for a lock near the upper right corner, which should reveal some tidbits about the service’s administration.
If SafeSearch isn’t already locked, you can use your saved preferences by logging into your Google account.
SafeSearch is on, but Explicit Results Still Appear
SafeSearch is meant to eliminate adult content, but no filter is foolproof. If you find that SafeSearch is still returning adult content, please let Google know.
SafeSearch Keeps Turning Off
As long as you keep accepting “cookies” (the internet kind, not the chocolate chip kind), your SafeSearch preferences should be preserved. If you have disabled SafeSearch and have since deleted your cookies or logged out of your Google account, you may need to enable it again.
