Rossgram is the name of a new platform being launched by a group of Russian digital entrepreneurs.
Beginning on March 28th, customers will be able to download Rossgram, a new photo-sharing app.
On March 14, Roskomnadzor, Russia’s official communications regulator, shut down Instagram in Russia.
Last Monday, Russia restricted access to Instagram, which is owned by Meta and used by more than 80 million people across the world.
The widely used photo-sharing software is no longer available in the country of Vladimir Putin.
Russian tech entrepreneurs have announced the establishment of an alternative platform called Rossgram in order to fill the hole left by Instagram in Russia.

Rossgram’s style and layout are also identical to Meta’s photo-sharing app, apart from the name.
Beginning on March 28th, users will be able to download Rossgram, a new photo-sharing app. Crowdfunding and paid access for certain material are mentioned as a part of the social media platform.
Rossgram will be made available on the VKontakte social network soon, according to the initiative’s director of public relations Alexander Zubov.
According to him, “My partner Kirill Filimonov and our group of engineers were already prepared for this turn of events and chose not to miss the opportunity to construct the Russian equivalent” of a well-loved social network in Russia.
Rossgram’s look and feel is quite similar to that of Instagram, as Zobov disclosed. The color palette and layout of the Meta-owned photo-sharing platform are likewise strikingly similar. Rossgram’s creator,
Mark Zuckerberg, has yet to comment on the app’s design.
Russia Has Banned Instagram
To refresh your memory, Roskomnadzor, Russia’s federal communications regulator, shut down Instagram on March 14 after Meta announced that it would enable Ukrainians to post slogans like “Death to the Russian invaders” on the social media platform.
That’s what Meta argued, too: that the policy change is only applicable in Ukraine after Russia invaded. The corporation led by Mark Zuckerberg decided that preventing Ukrainians from “expressing their resistance and indignation at the invading military forces” was inappropriate.
