Bitcoin Core released its new version 0.61.1 recently, with its new features and performance improvements. The release was stated on the official website, according to the announcement on the webpage.
Bitcoin core is an official software which allows the client to store the copy of the entire block network as a full node. The client is programmed to decide which blockchain contains valid transactions.
More interestingly the original author of bitcoin core was satoshi nakamoto and the software was written in c++, qt. The current size of the network data is stated to be 203GB.

The newly released version includes several bugfixes and performance improvements, which further implement to the improvement of the transaction. More previously the version released with the full support of Segwit i.e. scaling technology, which was designed to reduce transaction fee, as well as time taken to complete it.

Miner block size removed,
The `-blockmaxsize` option for miners to limit their blocks’ sizes was
deprecated in version 0.15.1, and has now been removed. Miners should use the
`-blockmaxweight` option if they want to limit the weight of their blocks’
weights.
