If you’re anything like the rest of us, you probably clicked on this post since Twitter is blocked in Nigeria and you can’t use it there.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) ordered late Friday for telecommunications providers like MTN, Glo, Airtel, and 9mobile to prohibit access to Twitter, according to Guardian Nigeria. Here are the steps you need to take to access Twitter with and without a VPN, without further ado.
- Install a VPN
“VPN” stands for “Virtual Private Network,” or an encrypted network. In order to establish a safe connection while you browse the internet, it operates by masking your IP address.

Here is a list of free VPNs that you may get from the app store on your phone. There may be additional free VPNs available since this list is by no means comprehensive.
- PIONEER PRO
- NordVPN. \sExpressVPN.
- IPVanish.
- ProtonVPN.
- TunnelBear.
- VPN Hola Privacy.
- Secure Connection with Kaspersky VPN.
- CyberGhost.
- USA VPN by Windscribe
- Nord \sPIA
- IPvanish
- VPN & Proxy Hotspot Shield
- Betternet Hideman VPN Unlimited Free VPN
- Free Hola VPN for Android with SurfEasy
- Give the VPN approval
Go to settings if you are using an Android device. After that, select “Network & Internet,” “Advanced,” and “VPN.” Lastly, click the VPN name (you should see the VPN you downloaded). On an iPhone, open the settings app, select “General,” then “VPN.” You ought to notice the VPN you downloaded right away. Turn “status” on at the top to finish.

- Pick Your Favorite Location in Your VPN Application.
Return to the VPN now, choose any location you like, and presto, you can use Twitter once more. A different option is to download the Opera browser for PC and enable the VPN icon.

Twitter Usage Without A VPN:
You don’t need a VPN to access the platform, claims this Twitter user. This is how:
- Navigate to your Twitter settings, select “Proxy,” and then select “Enable HTTP PROXY.”
- Paste “8080” in the port area and “104.192.202.11” in the proxy host section.
Close Twitter after completing that and then reopen it. Keep in mind that this method has not been shown to be secure, so you should only use it if absolutely necessary. A VPN is now the most secure choice.
