Almost all Windows distributions provide a Safe Mode option. This way, when you boot up your computer, it will only load the essential programs and drivers. The majority of the add-ons will be deactivated, and the software will operate more slowly. No internet connection is established by default.
In general, you shouldn’t always be running in Safe Mode. When your computer is malfunctioning or won’t boot up at all, you can switch to Safe Mode to fix the problem. By loading only the bare minimum, you can determine if the system is at fault or if a third-party program you loaded is to blame.
Here’s how to enter and leave Safe Mode during startup.
