You can use your AirPods with a variety of other Bluetooth-enabled devices, including your Mac, so there’s no need to keep them locked to your iPhone.

Depending on how you currently use the AirPods, there are two ways to connect them to a Computer.

If you don’t use AirPods with an iPhone, here’s how to connect them to a Mac.

You can connect your AirPods directly to your Mac if they aren’t already connected to your iPhone.

  1. Open the cover of the charging case while the AirPods are still inside.
  2. When the status light begins to flash, press and hold the button on the back of the casing.
  3. To access the Apple menu on your Mac, click the Apple icon in the top menu bar.
  4. Click System Preferences in step
  5. Click Bluetooth in the System Preferences pane.
  6. It is a good idea to have a backup plan in case something goes wrong.
  1. The AirPods will be visible at the top of the Devices list and available for usage once the connection is complete.
  2. The “Connect” button is highlighted next to the AirPods in the Mac’s Bluetooth interface.
