Though it’s one of the more recent desktop weather applications for Linux, Meteo is unquestionably my favorite. Meteo is easy to use and retrieves a multitude of weather data, such as humidity, wind speed, and dawn and sunset times.
The app’s useful system tray applet is the main reason you might want to use it, though.

The OpenWeather GNOME Shell extension is more of an applet than an app. It performs everything a weather programme does, but considering its ubiquity and utility, I don’t believe a list of the top weather applications for Linux would be complete without it.
Direct access to OpenWeather is provided through the GNOME Shell top panel. The temperature and current circumstances of the selected location are shown (through a symbolic indicator and optional text description).
It only takes one click to access detailed weather information. Along with the hours of sunrise and sunset, you may view cloudiness, humidity, wind speed, and pressure.
You can customize the location of the applet in the top bar, how many days of the forecast the on-click modal displays (up to 10 days), and even how many locations you want to watch the weather in.

Cumulus was a gorgeous desktop weather application for Linux that is now in the past tense.
Its bright, straightforward design made it very simple to observe what the weather was doing right now and get a sneak peak at what it might be like over the next five days.
Sadly, Yahoo! Weather was used to power Cumulus. Earlier this year, Yahoo! disabled access to their weather API. Cumulus is no longer functional even though it can still be installed on Linux thanks to a PPA.
It would be fantastic to see the app’s creators connect it to a different service (like OpenWeatherMap), as it was a really useful small utility.
