If your home’s other systems are Matter-compatible, you may use a single device to manage everything from the lights and heat to the locks and alarms. You can now use the Google Home Mini, Google Home speaker, Nest Audio, Nest Hub (Generation 1 & 2), Nest Hub Max, Nest Mini, or Nest Wi-Fi Pro as your control device.

In addition to using Wi-Fi to link all of your gadgets to your (now Matter-enabled) hub, you can also use a variety of other methods. Nest Wi-Fi Pro, Nest Hub Max, and Nest Wi-Fi Pro 2nd Generation are all made compatible with the power-saving Thread network through this update. Of course, the usefulness of this capability depends on the devices’ own Thread connectivity.
