Use Find My Email to regain access to your Google account if you’ve lost your email.

Using the Account Recovery page, you can also restore a Google account if you forget the password.

When your account has been hacked, the Account Recovery page can help you get it back.

Nothing is more unpleasant than being unable to access your Google account because you forgot your email address or password, especially if it holds the majority of your digital life.

Nothing besides having your account hacked, that is.

In any case, there are various ways to regain access to your Google or Gmail account.

What you should know is as follows.

How to Recover a Google Account if You Forgot Your Email Address

Google provides a mechanism to retrieve your password if you remember your password but not your email address.

Google Account Recovery
  1. Open the Find My Email page on Google.

Visit the Find My Email page if you can’t recall your email address. If you forget your email address, you’ll start the account recovery procedure here.

  1. Type in your phone number or recovery email.

A text window where you must input a recovery email address or phone number will then appear. Click Next after entering the phone number or email.

  1. Type your name, first and last.

Next, your first and last names will be required. Click Next after entering them in the appropriate text boxes.

  1. Send a code of verification

Click Send to request that Google send a verification code to the recovery email address or phone number.

  1. Key in the validation code.

Check the inbox of the recovery email you used, and if it was a phone, check your messages, for the verification code. Once you’ve located the code, input it there and select Next.

  1. Select a user account

The accounts linked to the recovery email or phone number will be listed for you in Go. Click on the account you wish to recover if you see it.

  1. Type your passphrase in.

Enter the password in the text box since you remember it, then click Next. If you’ve enabled two-step verification, you must confirm that you are the one who is actually accessing the account.

How to Recover a Google Account if You Forgot Your Password

You may occasionally recall your email address but not your password. By resetting your password in accordance with the instructions below, you can still access your account.

A quick tip: Your email address is required for this method to function. If you can remember it, begin by following the “lost email address” instructions above, and then select Forgot password when you reach the part where you input your password.

  1. Access the Account Recovery page for Google.

The first step in changing your Google account’s password is to open your preferred browser and go to the Account Recovery page.

  1. Type in your e-mail address.

Click Next after entering your Google account’s email address.

A quick tip: Verify that you can still access and open the inbox of the Gmail account connected to the account you’re trying to recover.

  1. Type the most recent password you can recall.

The most recent password you can recall will then be requested by Google. Enter it in the text field and select Next if you have even the slightest inkling of what it is.

Your registered device will then receive a prompt from Google requesting you to confirm your identity. Tap Yes, it is me when you open it.

Following a six-hour wait for Google to confirm your identity, a password reset link will be sent to your email.

Use the next method if you can’t recall your previous password.

  1. Select “Try it another way.”

Click while you are still on the Account Recovery page to Attempt using a different method for Google to ask your phone to confirm your identity. Open the prompt on your phone and select Yes, it’s me.

After six hours, Google will confirm that you are who you claim to be and offer you a link to reset your password.

Try the next approach if you didn’t register a device to receive prompts from Google.

  1. Once more click “Try another way.”

Click if you have the ability to check your phone for the code. Test yet another strategy.

Google will then ask if you want it to call your registered phone number to send a verification code. Select Send.

Enter the code in the textbox after retrieving it from your messages and clicking Next.

Wait six hours for Google to email you the link to reset your password.

However, if you don’t have a registered number, you can attempt another approach.

  1. One final time, click on “Try another way.”

Click Try another approach again if you don’t have a registered phone number or if two-step verification wasn’t enabled.

If everything checks out, Google will send you a link to reset your password within 72 hours of confirming your identity.

How to Get Your Google Account Back After Being Hacked

You can also utilize Google’s Account Recovery page if you’re unable to log into your Google account, such as when you try to do so and discover that someone has changed your password or recovery phone number, deleted your account, or in rare situations, even if you deleted the account yourself.

Simply follow the instructions and provide the best answers you can.

If everything else fails or you’re unable to sign in for another reason (such as having difficulties with two-step verification or being unable to change your password with a code by SMS), you can obtain assistance with signing in and restoring your account straight through Google.
