A new monthly subscription for Disney+ Hotstar is being tested for Rs 49 for a limited number of Android customers.
However, for a limited time, Disney+ Hotstar is offering a discount of Rs 100 off its mobile plan for a period of 6 months.
Netflix earlier this month lowered the price of its subscription plans, which now begin at Rs 149.
Disney+ Hotstar, a streaming service with millions of subscribers, is apparently testing a new monthly mobile plan with a small group of Android users.
Users can get the cell plan for as little as Rs 49 per month with certain payment options. In exchange for viewing advertisements, users will get access to all of Disney+ Hotstar’s content on their mobile devices.

Users will only be able to log in from a single device at a time. Viewers can enjoy high-definition (720p) video and stereo sound.
According to Disney+ Hotstar’s customer service, the service is now trialing a Rs 49 mobile package with a small sample of Android users. This is a trial of the first monthly Disney+ Hotstar plan, while all other plans are annual.
There are screenshots on Reddit from Android users who discovered the idea on Disney+ Hotstar first. To my knowledge, Only Tech was the first to report the news.
Reports suggest that customers who pay with a credit or debit card, Paytm, PhonePe, or UPI can get Disney+ Hotstar’s initial deal, normally priced at Rs 99, for just Rs 49.
Meanwhile, for a limited time, Disney+ Hotstar is discounting its 6-month mobile plan by Rs 100. Rather than paying Rs 299 every month, you’ll only have to pay Rs 199 if you sign up for the mobile plan for a full six months.
New Disney+ and Hotstar subscription bundles were introduced in early September of this year. Forget paying Rs 399 a year for VIP access; now everyone gets unlimited access to everything.
The Mobile plan on Disney+ Hotstar costs Rs 499 per year, the Super plan costs Rs 899 per year, and the Premium plan costs Rs 1499 per year.
In addition to the current Premium perks, customers will now be able to stream their favorite shows simultaneously on four devices in stunning 4K resolution.

Users of Disney+ Hotstar Super will be able to stream on two devices, but at a lower quality. The most basic plan will cost 499 rupees a month and cover only one cell phone.

The Netflix Basic plan, which allows users to stream content on a single mobile, tablet, computer, or television screen at a time, is now available for Rs 199 per month. In India, the Standard subscription package that enables HD streaming has increased in price to Rs 499.
You can watch videos on two devices at once with this package. At present, Rs 649 will get you Netflix’s priciest “Premium” subscription. Video content can be seen in 4K with high dynamic range (HDR) with the Premium subscription.
