Turn on your Exposure Notifications by downloading the free COVIDWISE app from the iPhone Program Store and following the app’s onscreen instructions.

COVIDWISE Express can be enabled by doing so.
The following iOS versions are required in order to use COVIDWISE Express, which does not require an app download. With the iPhone 6s and subsequent models, you’ll need iOS 13.7; the iPhone 5s, 6, or 6 Plus, you’ll only require iOS 12.5.
Turn on Exposure Notifications in Settings. Select Virginia as your region of choice and follow the onboarding instructions.
STEP TWO OF COVIDWISE
Exposure Notifications will create an anonymous token for your device after you opt-in. These tokens change every 10-20 minutes to ensure that they cannot be used to identify you or your location.

By using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, your phone and the phones near you may exchange these anonymous tokens while keeping your privacy and not using any of your data or power. Once you’ve chosen to participate, this process is completely automatic.
Step 4 of COVIDWISE
A list of anonymous tokens connected with confirmed positive COVID-19 test results is downloaded to your phone every day, and it does a comparison against a list of anonymous tokens it has seen in the previous 14 days. Obtain and submit your Verification Code if you have tested positive.

If a match is found, COVIDWISE will let you know and provide you with safety guidelines from your local public health authority.

Every day, your phone downloads a list of all the anonymous tokens linked with verified positive COVID-19 test results and compares them to the list of anonymous tokens it has encountered in the last 14 days. Obtain and submit your Verification Code if you have tested positive.
Step 5 of the COVIDWISE Process
As soon as your COVIDWISE test results are back, your local public health authority will contact you with information on how to keep you and others around you safe.
