Instagram’s Stories feature was introduced that same year as an attempt to compete with Snapchat, whose user base was growing at an unprecedented rate.

Similar to Snapchat, Stories lets users share content with their friends and followers for only 24 hours before it goes forever. Instagram users were quick to adopt the new function, and it soon rose to prominence as one of the app’s most popular additions.

Best Ways to Put Music on Your Instagram Story

You can add music to your Instagram Story in a few different methods, each of which has its own set of musical alternatives to choose from. Instagram, along with other popular music services like the Spotify app, Soundcloud, Apple Music, and Shazam, allow you to share specific songs from their libraries.

Instagram Stories can be up to 15 seconds long, so you’ll need to select music (or a clip of music) that falls within that time limit. Let’s examine the various means at your disposal for locating an appropriate tune for your Story.

Add Music from Instagram

The simplest choice is to use Instagram to add music. Here’s the procedure:
To create a new account, launch Instagram and tap the + sign in the upper right corner.

Clicking this button will take you to Instagram’s “add to Story” interface, where you can begin developing your story.

Select from Instagram’s music collection after you’ve created your Story (video, photo, GIF, etc.).

Simply select the Sticker menu and then the Music sticker to add a song to your Story.

By doing so, you’ll be taken to Instagram’s music library, where you have access to tens of thousands of tracks. Remember that copyright constraints mean that not all music is available in every country. The number of songs accessible on a business account is reduced, too.

You’ll find a “for you” area once you start looking around. This is calculated based on your own posting history, as well as the accounts you follow and interact with on Instagram.

Click the “Browse” tab at the top of the screen to hear music outside of this selection. You may now browse Instagram’s music library using this. If you know the title or artist you want to hear, you can enter it into the search bar manually.

You can choose to use a snippet of music anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds in length. Within the programme, you’ll see a length slider that you may use to make your selection. The final step in adding music to your Instagram Story is to click the “Done” button.

Add Music from Spotify

Add Music to Instagram Story

When all else fails on Instagram, a quick trip to Spotify is your next best bet. If you’re looking for a certain song or artist, you may probably find it on Spotify, one of the most widely used music streaming apps.

For the Instagram integration, a Spotify Premium subscription is required, which costs $9.99 per month.

Here’s What You Need to Do to Add a Song from Spotify:

Activate the Spotify programme.
Select the tune you’d want to add by clicking on it.

To expand the menu, select the ellipsis (…) in the upper right.
Just hit the ‘Share’ button at the bottom of the page.

Specify Instagram posts to view
Spotify will then launch Instagram in the background. If you choose a song, its cover image will be included in your Story as well.

Using this strategy prevents the music from automatically playing on Instagram. Once your Story has been published, a “Play on Spotify” button will appear in the upper left corner. To listen to the album or song, your followers will need to open Spotify and click on the cover art.

Add music from SoundCloud

The majority of SoundCloud’s audience consists of newer bands and musicians, and Instagram Stories is an ideal venue for showcasing their work. This is especially the case if you’re a musician or songwriter seeking for a platform to release your work.

Here’s how To Embed Tracks from SoundCloud Into Your Instagram Stories:

Launch the SoundCloud programme on your mobile device.
Just pick the tune you’d like to send over.

Select “Share to Instagram Stories” from the share menu.
Doing so will launch the Instagram app and automatically set the artwork for the album or song as the picture for your Story.

Stickers including the SoundCloud logo and the name of the song can also be added. This lets people listen to the song on your preferred SoundCloud page by clicking through to it. You can enhance the image’s discoverability by including text, hashtags, or animated GIFs.

Insert Apple Music Tunes

It’s a terrific way to show off your taste in music to your followers and friends if you add songs from Apple Music to your Instagram Story.

The actual audio cannot be shared in the Instagram app, as is the case with other third-party integrations with Instagram Stories. Luckily, Apple Music has more than 90 million songs, so you shouldn’t have any trouble choosing the music you want to share.

The Process Is Simple:

In order to access the menu, open the Apple Music app and then tap the three dots in the upper right corner.
You can now choose the “Share” button.
Once you’ve hit the “Share” button, look through the list of available services and pick Instagram.

Whenever you do this, album or song artwork will be imported into your Instagram Story along with a link that reads “Play on Apple Music.” Users can listen to the tune via the Apple Music app by clicking the link.

Add Music from Shazam

Add Music to Instagram Story

Have you ever heard a song at a public event, TV show, or social gathering and been unable to place it? For this purpose, you can use the Shazam app.

The software has been available for download for over 20 years, but its popularity skyrocketed after Apple purchased it in 2017. It’s now built into every iPhone and works seamlessly with Siri.

The widespread adoption of Shazam has made it much simpler to use the app to determine the identity of a tune being played in a supermarket. Moreover, the Shazam app has an Instagram share button, so you can alert your followers to your newfound musical treasure without leaving the app.

You Should Do the Following when You Find Music You Like:

To access the ellipses, open the Shazam app and navigate to the top right corner.
Share > Instagram stories > Instagram.

If you do this, your Instagram Story will have a link to “More on Shazam” and the album cover art for the identified song.

Sharing the story of how you came upon new music is a terrific method to gain their appreciation for it. Embellish your story of discovering this song using text and other stickers to describe your experience.

Including Lyrical Excerpts in An Instagram Post

You’re not limited to only the song’s music or artwork when posting it to Instagram. The lyrics may also be included. You may add them over a photo or a video, and they’ll be perfectly timed to the sonic moment you’ve chosen to highlight in your Story.

Follow These Instructions to Insert Lyrics Into Your Story:

Throw open Instagram.
You may access your Story by clicking the + icon that appears on your profile picture in the upper left corner of the screen.

Include the media file you wish to highlight.
To use Instagram as a music source, go to your profile and click the “Music Sticker” option.

Find the tune you wish to put in your Story.
Tap the album cover that appears once you’ve chosen the song.

Several more font families have been added to your disposal today, giving you greater flexibility when inserting lyrics.

As an added customization option, you may increase or decrease the font size of the lyrics and move them about in the Story. You should be aware that not all songs in the Instagram music library support lyric addition.

Summary

One of the best ways to interact with people is through sharing music with your friends and followers on social media. You may share your latest jams with the world and get recommendations from your Instagram followers by using the Stories feature.

A further method of discovering excellent new songs to add to your playlist is to browse through hashtags pertaining to specific musical genres.
