How to Change Folder Background Image In Windows 10

We all know the trick of customizing folder background in older Window version. But since Windows 10 came up it seems to change folder background not possible due to changes in Windows Explorer. In the history of windows, Windows 98 was the first one to support this feature of changing the background image, colour, font etc. And this feature was later removed in Windows XP version. Since then user misses this feature a lot & to change windows folder background image we all rely on to use 3rd party tool.

But since Windows 10 came up seems like 3rd party tool couldn’t also support this, due to security and latest UI issues.

So Today we are discussing that how we can get a customize folder background in window 10. Also, it is supported in Windows 8 & 8.1 also.
Note: This trick has a bug we discuss that later.

Steps to follow

Follow these steps given below and you will end up with you custom background image feature in Windows 10:-

1) Download this tool–> https://goo.gl/tYvxPN

2) Extract with Winrar or WinZip to the desired folder.

3) (Optional) ! Note make sure make a system restore or recovery disk. Well, everything will work fine but is always good to backup stuff before going.

4) Now Run “Install.bat” as administrator.

5) Follow steps to end.

6) Reboot your system.

7) Open folder to which you want to add custom folder image. Right Click and select properties. Then goto Folder Background Tab.

8) Choose image and setting of text color, text shadow.

9) Click Apply but don’t close Properties Window.

Here comes the bug:

This tool is meant to work in windows 7 and vista. But in windows 10 if you close the property window, windows 10 will automatically stop some services by itself (it is a built-in feature to boost speed issues).

Hence, property window has to open all the way to get the result.

Here Is the tip!

You can drag property window to the right bottom of the screen to get rid of it.

I’m working on this bug and will update this post you when it’s done. Since I think many tools would come up with more features.  But although trick works pretty fine and I love custom folder images, it redefines folder and create an amazing look.
